How the Fuel Cost Calculator works
The calculator estimates how many liters your vehicle will use over the trip and multiplies that by the price per liter. Fuel economy can be entered in km/L, L/100km (the European standard) or mpg (miles per gallon, used in the US) — the conversion is handled automatically. If more than one person is travelling, the total cost is also split equally between them.
Use it to compare routes, plan a budget for a road trip or split fuel costs fairly between passengers. Because the price per liter is an input, you can update it with the current pump price to keep the estimate accurate.

The distance is combined with your vehicle's fuel economy to work out the liters needed, which are then multiplied by the price per liter. The result is the total cost, optionally divided by the number of people.
Which consumption unit should I use?
Use whichever your car displays: km/L is common in Brazil, L/100km is standard across Europe and mpg is used in the US and UK. The calculator converts internally, so the result is the same.
Does it include tolls or other costs?
No, it estimates fuel cost only. Add tolls, parking and other expenses separately to get the full cost of the trip.
