About these tools

Color formats exist for different jobs: HEX for CSS and design handoff, RGB for screens and canvas work, HSL when you need to reason about a color rather than just name it — nudging lightness or saturation while keeping the hue.

The palette generator builds combinations from color-theory relationships (complementary, analogous, triadic) so the results hold together instead of being random swatches. Every color can be copied in whichever format your tooling expects.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between HEX, RGB and HSL?

They describe the same color differently: HEX and RGB by red/green/blue amounts, HSL by hue, saturation and lightness — which is easier to adjust by hand.

Can I use these palettes commercially?

Yes. Colors cannot be copyrighted, so any palette you generate is yours to use.

Are the palettes accessible?

Always check the contrast between your text and background colors against WCAG minimums before shipping — a harmonious palette is not automatically a legible one.
