Privacy policy

The short version

There are no accounts, so we never ask for your name, email address or payment details. The data you type into a calculator, the image you drop into the resizer and the text you paste into an editor are processed in your browser and are never transmitted to us.

We do collect anonymous usage statistics, described below, to understand which tools people use and where pages break.

What stays on your device

All calculators, converters (except currency), generators, image tools, editors and date and time tools run entirely client-side. Files you open are read by your browser and never uploaded. Passwords and UUIDs are generated locally with the Web Crypto API and are not stored anywhere.

Your language choice is stored in a cookie (NEXT_LOCALE) and your light or dark theme preference in your browser's local storage. Both exist only so the site looks the way you left it.

What reaches a server

The currency converter sends the currency pair you selected to a public exchange-rate provider in order to fetch the current rate. No personal data is included in that request.

The link shortener stores the URL you submit, together with a generated code and timestamps, in our database. Those records are deleted automatically seven days after creation. Do not shorten a URL that itself contains private information, since anyone with the short link can follow it.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to see which tools are used and where the interface fails. Both set cookies and process data such as your approximate location (derived from your IP address), device type, browser and the pages you visit. Clarity also records anonymized interaction data such as clicks and scrolling.

This data is aggregated and is not used to identify you. You can block both with any standard content blocker, with your browser's do-not-track and cookie settings, or by using Google's official opt-out add-on.

Advertising

Smartntools currently shows no advertising. If advertising is introduced in the future, this page will be updated before it goes live and will name the provider and the cookies involved.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and Brazil's LGPD you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data held about you. Since we hold no accounts and no personal profiles, in practice this concerns analytics data and any short link you created — write to us and we will handle it.
