Code Editor
Write and edit code with syntax highlighting for HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python and more, right in your browser.
How the code editor works
This editor runs entirely in your browser, with syntax highlighting, line numbers, automatic bracket/brace closing and basic autocomplete for several languages. No code you type is ever sent to a server.
Choose a language from the dropdown above to switch syntax highlighting and load a starter sample. Use the buttons to copy the code to your clipboard or download it as a file with the correct extension.
Frequently asked questions
Is the code I write sent to any server?
No. All editing happens locally in your browser; nothing is transmitted or stored online.
Which languages are supported?
JavaScript, TypeScript, JSX, TSX, HTML, CSS, JSON, Python, Markdown, SQL, C++, PHP, C# and Java, each with its own syntax highlighting.
Does the editor save my code automatically?
No. The content only exists in the current page's memory; copy or download your code before closing or refreshing the tab.
Does the editor theme follow the site theme?
Yes. The editor automatically follows the light or dark theme selected with the toggle button in the header.
